This decree provides that natural person- resident who during his stay abroad opened a bank account and placed on it currency values, after returning to Ukraine has to inform National Bank and to receive a appropriate license from NBU:
- not later than 24 months from the date of returning to Ukraine (if such person was abroad at least 183 consecutive days);
- not later than 2 months from the date of returning to Ukraine (if such person was abroad less than 183 days in a row).
In addition, physical persons, which changed their status from a non-resident to resident of Ukraine, must also obtain currency license during 24 months from the date of such changing of status.
These changes may simplify it for individuals for opening bank accounts abroad and to get a confirmation for that by the NBU.
